Huntington 13 - The Blog

Shelter and bridge to restrooms
East Shelter, lake in background

Stream flowing thru the park

Hi Huntington family,
Here are some pictures of Dorchester Park and our pavillion which is named on signs "East Shelter".

The park is located on Rt. 26, off Rt. 206 just outside Whitney Point, and not far from Rt. 81.

I can see a bit of Dorchester Lake in the background. When we visited a few weeks ago there were ten tables in the shelter as well as a charcoal grill. Water is close by.

Sunday, August 15th is the date. Let's plan to eat about 1 p.m. If weather permits, I'll get the charcoal fire started about 12:15 p.m.

Bring a dish to pass. There is an electrical outlet so I can make coffee, just in case we have cool or rainy weather. I'll furnish table coverings, table service and some beverages, iced tea and lemonade. Don't forget a chair. Much easier to sit on than the picnic benches.

Bring pictures and family stories.

Our newsletter editor Bobbie will be there to gather stories for the newsletter.
On Mother's Day Jack and I went for a ride over the hills and went up to South Oxford and found Grandpa Huntington's farm. I got a picture of the barn, which looks to be in good shpe.

Chris
